Lahore: RTO converts Union office into Prosecution branch

LAHORE: The Federal Board of Revenue Regional Tax Office Lahore has allocated the office of the FBR employees’ union to the Investigation and Prosecution Branch by vacating it from union.

As per detail, the authorities of the RTO Lahore issued official order regarding the allocation of the prosecution branch at the place of union office here on Saturday. Authorities said that suspended union members have illegally occupied the place of RTO Lahore which is not acceptable.

Deputy Commissioner Imran Ahmad with help of Punjab Police converted the Union office into the office of Investigation and Prosecution. The police have been deployed to overcome any uncertain situation or protest.

Union members said that Federal Revenue Alliance Employees Union is a registered union and termed the action of authorities as unlawful. They said that we were being victimized by the department due to raising voice for the rights of lower class. They said that department wanted to push down the voice of employees against the dismissal of Central President of Union Mian Abdul Qayyum.

The Prosecution branch has shifted its furniture, records of the office etc to the allocated area obeying the order in the presence of Police. An official said that the order is in complete accordance with the law. He said that routine work at the RTO Lahore is being continued without any disturbance.
