RTO gears up effort to achieve tax collection target

KARACHI:  While the current fiscal year is going to end, the Federal Board of Revenue has already issued directives to all the departments concerned to gear up efforts to achieve the revenue target.

Talking to Customs Today, Assistant Commissioner Inland Revenue Naveedul Hasan said, “We are collecting tax on war-footings and at the same time sending notices to tax defaulters asking them to pay tax without any further delay.” He said that the Federal Board of Revenue successfully collected Rs 1,975 billion during the last ten months of the fiscal year. He said that the department collected Rs 40 billion on the last day of the previous month.

He said that during the current fiscal year FBR have to achieve its target of Rs 2,691 billion, he said although it is a difficult target but not impossible  we are trying our best to achieve this target according to our plan.

He further said that we take many measures to deal with tax defaulters in the past such as we take data from banks to bring more people into tax net.
