RTO-I freezes bank account of Govt Cooperative Housing Society due to tax evasion

LAHORE: The Regional Tax Office-I (RTO-I) of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has frozen the bank accounts Government Cooperative Housing Society because the society is allegedly involved in tax evasion of Rs 61 million.

According yo details, the Regional Tax Office one (RTO-I) has frozen seven bank accounts of the society and recovers Rs 3.5 million from itss accounts.

The Government Cooperative Housing Society has not been paying their income tax liability from  last five years.

Regional Tax Office-I (RTO-I) team on the directions of Commissioner Inland Revenue Syed Nadeem Rizve took action and froze the bank account of the housing society which were operational in Bank of Punjab, Allied Bank Model Town and Township branches.

RTO-I sources told  Customs Today that accounts will be frozen until the recovery of all outstanding dues.
