RTO-I freezes bank account of MPA Ghulam Dastgir to recover Rs 13 million tax

LAHORE: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Regional Tax office-I (RTO-1) has frozen the bank account of Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) Ghulam Dastigir Lak on charges of tax evasion of Rs 13 million.

Commissioner Income Tax Zone-III Sadia Sadaf Gillani and Deputy Commissioner Shazia Gull issued instructions to freeze bank account of the legislator in order to recover the evaded amount.

Officials told Customs Today that the Federal Board of Revenue will recover every penny of tax from the defaulters whether they were politicians or common men, adding that FBR will attach the bank account of MNA Ghulam Dastgir to recover Rs 13 million. They said that department will take further legal action, if it could not get sufficient amount from the bank account.

It is important to mention here that MPA Ghulam Dastigir Lak, also a member of cooperative, law and parliamentary affairs, has been elected from PP-29, constituency of Bhalwal of Sargodha district.
