RTO-I generates Rs 54235m in 30 days of May

KARACHI: The Regional Tax office-I (RTO-I) has recovered outstanding amount of Rs 54235 million in the wake of tax during the 30 days of May.

RTO-I officials informed Customs Today that after the untiring efforts of the officials the department able to generated outstanding amount of tax. As per details, RTO-I told that from the recovered amount of Rs 54235 million including, Rs50973 million as income tax, 3213 million as sales tax and Rs 49 million recovered in the wake of federal excise duty.

It is pertinent to mention here during the previous month of April RTO-I collected Rs 52345 million including, Rs 49182 million as income tax, Rs 3114 million as sales tax while Rs 49 million collected in the wake of federal excise duty. The departmental sources further informed that RTO-I has issued final notice to more than 60 companies which were involved in tax evasion. In notices department warned to defaulters if they will not deposit their tax within 14 days the department take strict action against them.
