RTO-I issues notice to block bank accounts of MPA Ghulam Dastigir Lak

LAHORE: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Regional Tax Office-I (RTO-I) Lahore has issued notice to Punjab Assembly to block the bank account of member provincial assembly Ghulam Dastigir Lak allegedly involved in tax evasion of Rs 13 million.

Commissioner Income Tax Zone-III Sadia Sadaf Gillani and Deputy Commissioner Shazia Gull issued instructions to freeze bank account of the legislator in order to recover the evaded amount.

Earlier, RTO-I has frozen the bank account of Indus Sugar Mill owned by MPA Ghulam Dastgir Lak to recover the outstanding taxes.

Officials told Customs Today that department will take further legal action, if it could not get sufficient amount from the bank account.

On the other hand, MPA Dastgir said that he has taken stay order from the court, adding that he did not know about the freezing of any his bank account.

It is important to mention here that MPA Ghulam Dastigir Lak, also a member of cooperative, law and parliamentary affairs, has been elected from PP-29, constituency of Bhalwal of Sargodha district.
