RTO-II focusing on collecting arrears to meet revenue target

LAHORE: The Chief Commissioner Regional Tax Office-II (RTO-II) has directed all the staff to speed up their efforts to meet revenue target set for fiscal year 2015-16.

According to details, Chief Commissioner Khawaja Adnan Zaheer held a meeting with relevant officials and dirercted them to focus on collecting pending tax amount also.  He said collection of arrears will help achieve financial target set for the fiscal year 2015-16.

Sources informed Customs Today that arrears amounting to billions of rupees have been pending in the Regional Tax Office-II (RTO-II) for the last few years.

The RTO directed staff to use all resources to collect pending tax dues and they can freeze bank accounts and also will seal the properties and arrests the defaulters according to the law to ensure the tax recovery.
