LAHORE: The Regional Tax Office-II (RTO-II) of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has received 215 tax returns amounting to Rs 25.4 million under Voluntary Tax Compliance Scheme (VTCS) until March 2, 2016.
By the March 1, 2016, it collected 132 returns amounting to Rs 17 million. Officials said that non-taxpayers have only 12 days to take benefit of the scheme, adding that non-taxpayers will have to face stern action after the expiry of extended deadline for filing tax returns.
He further said that business community was showing interest in the scheme as in starting 15 days, RTO-II collected only three tax returns, adding that now number of tax returns is standing at 215.
