RTO-II recovers Rs 1.8m by attaching company’s bank accounts

LAHORE: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), Regional Tax Office-II (RTO-II), Lahore has recovered Rs 1.8 million by attaching the bank accounts of a company involved in short payment of taxes to the tune of Rs 15.8 million.

As per details, RTO-II team comprising Deputy Commissioner Inland Revenue Naveed Akhtar, Inspector Aftab Basra and Mehmoodul Hassan took action against a company namely Salisity (Private) Limited following an audit report regarding its tax evasion in the year 2013.

Source told Customs Today that FBR’s audit department while scrutinising the record of the said company for the year 2013 found some irregularities in payment of taxes to the tune of Rs

After completion, the audit report was sent to department concerned to take action against the tax evader under the FBR laws.

Therefore, a team of RTO-II attached company’s two accounts at Mezan Bank and Bank Al Habib to recover the default amount but could recover only Rs 1.8 million.

However, further measures have been taken in order to recover the due taxes from the said company.
