LAHORE: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Regional Tax Office-II (RTO-II) Lahore Zone-II recovered Rs40 million by attaching bank accounts of tax defaulter companies during March to April of current fiscal year 2014-15.

Sources said that on the instructions of Commissioner RTO Zone-II, Ahmad Shahab Mehmood and under supervision of Deputy Commissioner Zone-II, Umer Zab Khan and Assistant Commissioner Khuram Fakhar, the recovery team consisting of Inspector Imran Zedi and Kashif Mehmood attached bank accounts of the companies to recover evaded amount.

They added that the companies were issued notices repeatedly to pay the taxes but they paid no heed to the notices.

On not responding to the notices, the Zone-II commissioner instructed the officials to attach the bank accounts of companies including Levi’s, Ashraf Sugar Mills, Ittihad Energy and others, it was informed.

FBR’s team recovered the tax amount of Rs40 million by attaching the bank accounts of the companies in MCB Bank, Bank Alfalah, Habib Bank and others, sources said further.
