RTO-III collects Rs 53,410m in first 20 days of February

KARACHI: The Regional Tax Office-III has collected Rs 53,410 million during the first 20 days of February of the current Fiscal Year 2015-16.

Sources informed Customs Today that the RTO-III collected Rs 51,340 million under the head of income tax, Rs 1,880 million as sales tax and Rs 190 million were collected under the head of federal excise duty.

It is pertinent to mention here that Rs 26,212 million were collected during the first 10 days of February from which Rs 25,102 million were collected as income tax, Rs 1,020 million as sales tax and Rs 90 million were collected under the head of federal excise duty.

Sources further informed that FBR is expecting to generate more revenue during the month of March because 800 notices were issued to tax defaulters advising them to clear their outstanding dues of taxes at the earliest to avoid further action.
