KARACHI: The Regional Tax Offices-RTOs of Federal Board of Revenue-FBR are continued its revenue recovery campaign in full swing and have also targeted three hospitals in metropolis, whose administrations were defaulters in depositing their tax returns for several years.
According to details, a team of Regional Tax Office-RTO III conducted a raid at a private hospital namely Life-Line located in North Nazimabad area in connection with recovering the outstanding amount in share of legitimate duty/taxes.
The Deputy Commissioner of RTO-III Fayyaz Ahmed was informed Customs Today that the RTO had served several notices to the management of the hospital in order to deposit its outstanding taxes amounting Rs72million.
“Despite several notices, the hospital management did not respond to the FBR’s issued notices and that is why the commissioner-RTO III was decide to conduct raid at the account office of the said hospital”, deputy commissioner added.
He further said that the account office of the hospital has been sealed and will open after the payment of the outstanding taxes.
It is pertinent to mention here that the RTOs are in full action after the clear directives from the acting FBR Chairman Dr Muhammad Irshad to recovery the outstanding duty/taxes from the private sector.
In the light of the directives, the RTOs have already conducted three raids at private hospitals in different areas including Clifton, Federal B Area and North Nazimabad.
The sources further informed this scribe that the next target of RTOs is in Gulistan-e-Jauhar in which the FBR authorities would carry on their revenue recovery campaign.
