RTO issues show-cause notice to Izhar Concrete for Rs 6.7m sales tax evasion

LAHORE: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Regional Tax Office has detected Rs 6.7 million sales tax evasion allegedly by Izhar Concrete Limited for the tax year 2014.

Sources told Customs Today on the condition of anonymity that the RTO on suspicion conducted audit of the company and found that the company is involved in tax evasion of Rs 6.7 million for the tax period.

The audit of the company was conducted on the instruction of RTO Chief Commissioner Tasneem Rahman. The chief commissioner constituted a team of auditors led by Assistant commissioner Dr Tanveer Bhatti.

The sources said that the RTO recovering the shortfall in the tax deposited by the company has issued a notice demanding from the company to pay the remaining tax liabilities.
