RTO sends tax notices to Zulfiqar Babar, Umar Akmal and Ahmad Shehzad

LAHORE: The Regional Tax Office (RTO) of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has served notices on three national cricketers for not filing the tax returns.

Sources said that Zulfiqar Babar, Umar Akmal and Ahmad Shehzad had not filed the income tax returns or paid the liable taxes during the financial year 2014-15, adding that the FBR will recover tax from the tax defaulters with fine.

They added that the RTO officials have expedited efforts to recover taxes from the tax defaulters, adding that notices were being issued to them at the first stage. They added that in the second phase, the department will attach their bank accounts in order to recover the taxes.

If the cricketers failed to pay the taxes, the FBR officials will attach their bank accounts or take stern action against them according to the income tax laws.
