RTO Sukkur striving to make tax amnesty scheme a success

SUKKUR: The local business community has assured their full cooperation and support to make the Voluntary Tax Compliance Scheme (VTCS) a success.

They expressed their views on the tax amnesty scheme during a meeting with a delegation of the officials of Regional Tax Office, led by Chief Commissioner-Inland Revenue. The representatives and members of Sukkur Chamber of Commerce & Industry and Sukkur Tax Bar Association were present on the occasion.

Additional Commissioner Dr Pervez Ahmed Shar, the focal person for the Voluntary Tax Compliance Scheme, gave a comprehensive and detailed presentation on the VTCS to all the participants highlighting the salient features of the scheme and its benefits.

It was briefed that the scheme offered a rare and golden opportunity to the traders to become part of the tax net and to do their business with ease and comfort without any fear of being audited for next four years. The briefing was followed by questions and answers/discussion session in which the participants took active part and made useful suggestions.

The members of chamber and Tax Bar Association were informed that nine teams had been constituted to guide and facilitate the traders’ community. These teams will provide relevant material and guidance at the door step, they were told.
