ISLAMABAD: National Transmission And Dispatch Company Limited (NTDC) has said that the country’s total power shortfall has reached 4700MW.
According to the NTDC, the electricity demand is 16,100 MW whereas the production is 11,400 MW. Besides this, urban areas are facing nine hours and rural areas 11 hours of power outage.
Sources said that power demand is gradually rising due to hot weather whereas water outflow has not grown in big dams as a result of which hydroelectric production is not being raised.
