Rural women encouraged to cultivate vegetables to boost income

SARGODHA: The provincial government is encouraging the women at village level to cultivate vegetable for boosting their family income.

Horticulture Officer Sargodha Zone Dr Basharat Ali Saleem highlight this while addressing a training workshop of rural women for bringing prosperity through the cultivation of vegetables at small scale here on Thursday.

He said that under the programme the Punjab government would provide facilities to the women residents of 6 Union Councils of tehsil Kotmomin, district Sargodha including Dhoodha, Laksian, Jan Muhammad Wala, Midh Ranjha etc for the cultivation of vegetables.

Agricultural department of Sargodha would provide 5000 packets of modern Seeds per year along with assistance to cultivate vegetables under 5 Marla plot programme. Deputy District Officer Social Welfare, Hussain Ahmad Gondal, president Environment protection, Malik Abdul Rauf also addressed the training workshop.
