Russia introduces new customs rules

MOSCOW: Russian Customs introduced new rules for the passage of goods across the border with Ukraine, the press service of the Ukrainian State Border Service informs.

“Since November 12, the customs authorities of Russia have begun the implementation of measures to ensure compliance with the transit of goods imported into the customs territory of the Customs Union,” the service reports.

Under the new rules, the carriers shall provide the necessary certificates for entry into the territory of the Russian Federation for the clearance of goods and means of transport at the checkpoints.

Russian customs shall take bail, bank guarantee, pledge of property and preliminary declaration as the only way to ensure the observance of the customs transit. Previously adopted “road books” are no longer recognized by Russia.
