MOSCOW: Russia is “ready to meet Belgrade’s request” and allow import of Fiat cars without customs duty.
The issue will be discussed at the next meeting of the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission, due to be held on April 15.
The quotas “will be mutual,” while the list of Russian products will be submitted by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, said the daily, adding that the ministry “did not explain which manufacturers wish to participate in customs duty-free exports to Serbia.”
During negotiations in 2013 the figure of 10,000 Fiat cars had been discussed, and adds that “after several unsuccessful attempts to launch Fiat production in Russia,” these cars will arrive to the Russian market “via Serbia.”
