MOSCOW: Russian Federal Customs Service (FCS) has prevented smuggling of military equipment from Azerbaijan.
According to FCS, Dagestan customs officers detained a large consignment of military equipment at the Azerbaijan border. Equipment was intended for transporting to Russia without customs declaration.
“Undeclared goods – “military equipment of special purpose” for defence and law enforcement structures marked as “special equipment” in number of 178 kits with the total weight of 503 kg – was found at Magaramkent customs station of Dagestan Customs Service during customs control procedure and customs clearance of hand luggage belonging to private persons leaving Azerbaijan for Russia.
