KIEV: Ukraine will determine gas import volumes depending on consumption and choose the supplier depending on the pricing policy.
However, Russian gas imports will not exceed 50% of the total supply. Energy and Coal Industry Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Demchyshyn said this at the press conference, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“So far, Ukraine supplies gas from Russia and Europe in the ratio of 30 to 70. Depending on the pricing policy, this ratio may be changed in the interests of Russia. However, the Gazprom supplies will not exceed 50% of total imports,” Demchyshyn said.
According to the Minister, Ukraine currently expects the EBRD funds, which will be used to pay for the reverse gas supplies. The Minister noted that the agreement would be signed today or tomorrow.
