Russian wood pulp exports rise 12.9% to 1.35mt: Customs data

MOSCOW: For the first eight months of 2015 total volume of wood pulp exports from Russia increased by 12.9%, to 1.35 million tons year-over-year, as Federal Customs Service of Russia said.

The volume of Russian exports of newsprint for the reporting period amounted to 735.5 thousand tons, 6.7% lower than a year earlier.

Exports of wood pulp from Russia increased by 6.8% in value and amounted to $716.2 million; exports of newsprint decreased by 29.4% to $300.7 million.

1.305 million tons of wood pulp (+13.5%) worth $690.1 million (+7.4%) were shipped to other countries in January- August 2015; to CIS countries – 47.4 thousand tons (+5.6%) worth $26.1 million (-6.1%).

667.3 thousand tons of newsprint (-4.8%) worth $271.6 million (-27.7%) were shipped to other countries in January- August 2015; to CIS countries – 68.2 thousand tons (-21.9%) worth $29.2 million (-42.2%).
