MOSCOW: Russia’s consumer prices rose 0.2% in the week to Nov. 9, retaining the same pace for the fifth week in a row, data from the Federal Statistics Service showed Wednesday. Since the beginning of this year, consumer prices rose 11.5%, which is more than in the same period a year ago when prices increased by 8.5%.
Weekly inflation shows no signs of slowing down yet and annual inflation hovers between 15% and 16%, limiting the room for a cut to the central bank key rate, currently at 11%. After holding rates at the past two board meetings, the central bank is set to take its next rate decision in late December.
