SHIPMENTS: RV shipments were down in July compared with the same month last year, but manufacturers say they’ve shipped almost 10,000 more units so far this year than they had last year at this time.
The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association said a little more than 27,000 units were shipped in July, a 3 percent decline compared with last year. But so far this year, manufacturers have shipped 229,759 units, a gain of about 4.4 percent over 2014.
The RVIA has predicted that manufacturers will pass the 2006 pre-recession peak of 390,362 units.
