SEOUL: Korea Southern Power Co Ltd (KOSPO) bought 138,000 tonnes of Australian coal for loading in December via a tender that closed on Friday, a source from the utility said on Monday.
The utility initially sought a total of 228,000 tonnes of steaming coal via two spot tenders, but decided to pass on one because the prices of bids were too high, the source said.
