“At 23:35, the Killarney Gardens security established that three Quantum delivery vehicles were entering the premises.”

When police arrived two of the Quantums escaped. Police stopped the other vehicles and upon searching them they found 49 black bags of dagga, an undisclosed amount of cash, and four cell phones.

“The dagga was inside the Wardens vehicle which according to the reports was coming from Durban,” Kinana said.

“At the time some of the bags were on the ground next to the Quantum vehicles as the drivers were busy off-loading dagga into their own vehicles.”

The 43-year-old man, from Durban, was charged with dealing in dagga and expected to appear in the Cape Town Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.
