NEW DELHI: Saavn has been updated with a lot of new features, all of which add a new social layer to the service. With the latest release, users will be able to connect with friends and also learn more about their preference in music as well as share their own.

The new features are available for both Android and iOS users are already up for download. Saavn isn’t the first to experiment with making music more social. Twitter launched its own Music service in a bid to spark conversations about music and artists. Sadly, things didn’t work out well for the micro-blogging website and the service went offline.

With Saavn, users will be able to connect with friends from Facebook who also use the service. It allows you to follow profiles and keep an eye on someone’s playlists as well as listening activities. Apart from this, you can tag others in songs, playlists and albums, comment on content and even chat with people about music.

Additionally, it even creates a platform where users will be able to stay updated with the latest news from their favourite artists and celebrities by simply following them. Doing so will land users access to their playlists created by them and even ones publically shared by others as well. The Saavn application will automatically alert when artists release new content on the service.
