LAHORE: Barrister Zafarullah has challenged the construction of a coal power plant in Supreme Court Lahore registry, sources told Customs Today.
The 660 megawatt electricity project was started in Sahiwal last year at the BRB canal where Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had laid the foundation stone for the project.
The applicant has moved a petition to the court that this project is not suitable for environment. Therefore, the court should stop this project. Petition also says that Pakistan has showed reservations on such projects in India so why they are constructing these coal projects in Pakistan now.
