ISLAMABAD: The federal government has announced 10 per cent hike in the pay and pension of federal employees.
Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, in his budget speech, said that all the federal government employees would be given 10 per cent increase on the running basic from July 1, while the ad hoc increases made in the salaries in 2013 and 2014 were merged in the pay scale.
The pensioners will get 10 per cent increase in their net pensions from July 1, while the pensioners above the age of 85 years will be given an increase of 20 per cent, according to the decision.
Similarly for the benefit of labour class, the minimum wage has been increased to Rs14,000 from prevalent Rs13,000.
The federal government has also upgraded the pay scales with lower division clerk initial pay scale is upgraded to basic pay scale 9 from 7, upper division clerk in BPS 11 to 9, while assistants initial BPS lifted to BPS 16 to BPS 14.
The employees serving in Grade 1 to 15 will get 50 per cent increase in their travelling allowance while the MPhil allowance will be enhanced to Rs2500. Similarly additional charge and deputation allowances would be enhanced from Rs6,000 to Rs12,000.
