LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) has bared the government from receiving sales tax in electricity bills but LESCO is still:receiving it.
According to details and appl,ication has been moved in the LHC to bar the federal government and Lahore Electricity Supply Company from collecting sales tax on electricity bills. Senior advocate of LHC Azhar Sadique has moved this application in the court.
Azhar Sadique argued in the court that LESCO is receiving sales tax in electricity bill even it was stopped by the court which is against the law.
The LHC has issued the notices to the federal government and Lahore electric company to submit their stance on this application.
