Sambrial Customs sets aside 848 duty drawback claims of Rs67m in Dec 2016-17

ISLAMABAD: The Model Customs Collectorate Sambrial disposed of about 848 duty drawback claims of Rs.66.700 million during the month of December 2016-17 whereas 53,060 duty drawback claims of Rs. 4,336.428 million were pending on January 1, 2017.

According to details given by the sources, the MCC Sambrial disposed of duty drawback claims during the month of December 2016 which valued Rs.0.128 million, adding the duty drawback claims disposed of four months earlier were eight and the paid value was Rs.0.129 million for these claims.

The sources said that during the abovementioned period, the MCC Sambrial disposed of 23 duty drawback claims of six to 12 months which valued Rs.0.214 million. The collectorate set aside the duty drawback claims of more than one year which were 813 and valued Rs.66.229 million during the month of December 2016.

The sources added that the duty drawback claims pending on January 1 were over 5,000, adding that up to three months old the pending duty drawback claims were 7,319 and the value involved for these claims was Rs.480.490 million. He further said the pending cases of three to six months old were 7,316 and the amount involved against these claims was Rs.524.086 million.

The sources said there were 15,666 old pending duty drawback claims on January 1, 2017 and the value involved for these claims was Rs. 1,325.989 million. There were 22,759 pending duty drawback claims of more than one year and the value involved for these claims was Rs. 2,005.863 million.
