PETALING JAYA: Premium-looking, budget-friendly smartphones are the in-thing as Samsung today rolled out two new smartphones leading a new series of devices, the A series, in its Galaxy line.

With cross-hair aiming at the mid range market and youths, the Galaxy A5 and A3 are selfie/wefie-optimised devices.

Both are powered by a 1.2GHz Quad Core processor and come with 5-megapixel wide angle (up to 120°) front camera.

They also sport a full metal body at only 6.7mm (A5) and 6.9mm (A3) thin, showcasing the thinnest measurements amongst all Samsung devices to date.

“As more young people are getting smartphones, social network apps are booming, in turn feeding the selfie craze that has swept the world the past years. The Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A3 jump on the selfie bandwagon and further redefine it with their signature wide selfie feature, which complement the needs of a highly, digitally connected and style-conscious youth audience,” said Lee Jui Siang, vice-president, Mobile, IT and Digital Imaging, Samsung Malaysia Electronics.

He added that these new A series of devices are to optimise the social media experience as well as provide an immersive entertainment with its crisp and clear Super Amoled adaptive display.

In conjunction with the launch, Samsung Malaysia Electronics also introduced the “Bestnya Bersama” campaign, aiming to bring Malaysian youths together through the wide selfie feature and music platform.

Both the Galaxy A5 and A3 will be available from tomorrow at all Samsung Experience Store and Samsung authorised dealers at RM1,199 and RM899 respectively.
