Samsung Galaxy View tablet launches in US at $599

LONDON: The Samsung Galaxy View tablet, which was unveiled in late September, recently made its way into the United States market, with a price tag of $599.

As of this time, only the Wi-Fi-enabled Galaxy View model is available for purchase in the U.S. However, the cellular version is expected to arrive in the country at a later time.

The Samsung Galaxy View tablet sports an 18.4-inch large display screen with a 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution (full HD). It comes with a built-in stand and a rear handle that allows users to easily carry the device around the house.

The tablet packs an Exynos 7580 processor, under the hood, along with an octa-core 1.6GHz CPU, 2GB of RAM, and up to 32GB of internal memory storage.

The Galaxy View has a 5,700 mAh battery that will provide users up to eight hours of internet usage and video play time, and up to 299 hours of music playing time. As for the camera, the tablet only has a 2.1 megapixel front-facing unit with an F2.2 zoom 4X digital capability.

In addition to Wi-Fi, the device also supports Bluetooth 4.1 connectivity, and runs on the Android 5.1 operating system. The color available for the tablet is black. The Galaxy View will provide users live television in some markets, Phone Arena reported.

Users can access and switch between movies, the internet and apps by using their fingers as a remote, according to Samsung. Other features include powerful speakers with clear sounds, audio streaming, full HD video recording and location services GPS.
