NAIROBI: Samsung has announced the expansion of its J Series Smartphones with the introduction of Galaxy J5 and Galaxy J7 phones in the Kenyan market.
The Galaxy J5 will retail at Sh21, 000 while the Galaxy J7 will go for Sh27,000. The Galaxy J5 and J7 come few months after the launch of Galaxy J1.
“The launch of Galaxy J5 and Galaxy J7 aims to give consumers options in the mid-range price segment. With optimal features and great value for our consumers, the new devices will offer an uncompromised Smartphone experience, at very competitive prices,” Samsung East Africa IT and Mobile Division Business Leader Simon Kariithi said during the launch.
The phones come with a screen with advanced resolution of ultra saving power mode aimed at minimizing battery consumption, as well as the 5″ inch (J5) and 5.5 (J7) large screen display that lets the user comfortably view everything from videos to website pages.
The devices are equipped with increased Octa-Core CPU capacity that allows for more spontaneous multi-tasking and faster loading of webpage and games.
The devices also feature advanced technology on both the front and rear cameras which now creates great, crisp pictures even in low light.
“The hallmark of the Galaxy J5 and Galaxy J7 devices is the large screens and the selfie features which are very popular with our target market. The palm recognition feature on the front camera allows users to take selfies while maintaining their natural posture,” Kariithi added.
The devices come preloaded with Microsoft apps including One Note, One Drive and Smart Manager. One Drive offers customers 100GB of cloud storage while the Smart Manager app which provides improved power management by monitoring apps that use excessive battery power while also allowing for optimization of memory.
Both devices are available in all Samsung brand stores and authorised Samsung dealer shops country wide.
