Samsung revenue rises by 2.85% to 200.34 trillion won in 2015

SEOUL: Samsung Electronics posted 6.1 trillion won (5.1 billion U.S. dollars) in operating profit for the fourth quarter of last year, regulatory filing showed Friday.

The fourth-quarter operating profit was down 17.46 percent over the previous quarter but was up 15.31 percent over a year earlier.

Revenue was 53 trillion won during the October-December period, up 2.55 percent from three months earlier and up 0.51 percent from a year ago.

For the whole year of 2015, operating profit increased 5.35 percent from the previous year to 26.37 trillion won.

Revenue rose 2.85 percent from a year earlier to 200.34 trillion won in 2015.

Samsung does not unveil its estimates for net income and the breakdown of each business when announcing the preliminary figures. The final results will be made known later this month after an external audit.
