SEOUL: Samsung is expected to launch two new mid-tier phones in its Galaxy series in New Delhi on Thursday. Though Samsung’s press invitation doesn’t exactly state which phones will be unveiled but the images make it clear: we will likely see the Galaxy J5 and the Galaxy J7 phones.

Both phones emphasise taking selfies – a front-facing flash is clearly visible in Samsung’s invite.

The Galaxy J5 and J7 were first launched in China last month, priced at approximately Rs 14,000 and Rs 18,000 respectively.

The J5 is the lower-end handset of the two and features a 5-inch TFT HD screen with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, and is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon processor with 1.5GB Ram. You can also expand the 16GB built-in storage up to 128GB with a microSD card. There’s also a 13-megapixel camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for pin-sharp selfies.

The J7 has similar specifications, but is slightly larger at 5.5 inches and is powered by an octa-core processor.
