NEW YORK: Samsung will apparently release the world’s first foldable smartphone next year. It’s rumoured that it may be available as soon as January 2016.
Samsung’s Project Valley is reportedly under testing currently, according to sources in China. The smartphone has been posted about on social network Weibo, while SamMobile’s sources have been saying similar.
There are apparently two variants being tested. It is being tested with either the Snapdragon 620 or Snapdragon 820 processor in place. Samsung is said to be considering the latter for future flagship smartphones, including the Galaxy S7.
Other rumoured specs include 3GB of RAM, a non-removable battery, and a microSD slot. The amount of internal storage has not been mentioned as yet.
January isn’t that far away, so if Samsung holds true to this release date we’d expect more leaks and official news in the coming months.
