LAHORE: Traders of sanitary ware and ceramic tiles have announced to protest against the Income Tax Department on April 13.

Ferozepur Road Traders Union Chairman Mahboob Sirki said that all traders would demonstrate against the discriminatory action of the tax department, and keep their shops closed on the day of the protest.

Sirki condemned the policy of the Federal Board of Revenue regarding the access to traders’ bank accounts and termed it “harassment”.

It is pertinent to mention here that the union has taken the decision to protest just after the action of tax authorities against Mahmood Sons Sanitary Store, allegedly involved in tax evasion.

The FBR Inland Revenue (IR) team had seized the record of Mahmood Sons, including their computers, laptops and other relevant material, last week.
