Sara-e-Muhajar ASO impounds non-duty-paid Audi Q7 car

SARA-I-MUHAJIR: The Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) Sara-e-Muhajir impounded foreign origin used Audi Q7 car. The market value of the impounded vehicle is Rs 3 million.

Sources told Customs Today that additional collector Muhammad Saeed Asad received information regarding some non duty paid vehicles plying on roads. After receiving the information he constituted a raiding team comprising superintendent Muhammad Shoaib, Inspector Tanveer Bajwa, Amir Bajwa, Mehmood Dogar,  Havaldar Sher Ahmad and Sepoy Said Rasool and Faiz Ahmad.

The ASO team intercepted a Audi Q7 car bearing registration no: TD-348-A model 2014 near Sarai-e-Muhajir district Bhakkar and asked the owner of the vehicle Muhammad Shoaib son of Suleman Ismail Residential Bharia Town phase 8 to produce legal documents regarding possession of the vehicles. But the owner failed to show any relevant documents.

After his failure the ASO seized the vehicle under section 168 of the Customs Act 1969 by adopting the legal formalities section 3 of the Sales Tax Act 1990 and Section 148 of Income Tax Ordinance 2001. The ASO team seized the vehicle and registered a case against the accused person.
