Sara-e-Muhajir ASO impounds Toyota Passo worth Rs 1m

FAISALABAD: The Customs Anti-Smuggling Organisation (ASO), Sara-e-Muhajir, has impounded a Toyota Passo worth Rs 1.087 million involving duty and taxes amounting to Rs 537,000.

As per details, Sara-e-Muhajir ASO Deputy Collector Muhammad Rizwan received information regarding a non-duty paid vehicle. After receiving information, he immediately constituted a raiding team comprising Superintendent Choudhary Muhammad Sardar, Inspector Azhar Hussain Jafri, Nazir Hussain Jafri, Sepoys Sher Ahmed, Said Rasool and Faiz Ahmed.

The ASO team intercepted Toyota Passo car bearing Registration No LEA-14-2650, Model 2008 near Sadder Police Station, Bhakkar. The ASO team asked the accused person to provide legal documents of the vehicle. But he failed to provide the same.

After his failure, the ASO team impounded the vehicle under Section 168 of the Customs Act, 1969 and for violation of Section 3 of Sales Tax Act, 1990.

Seizure report has been submitted to the Customs Adjudication deputy collector for further legal process.
