Sara-e-Muhajir ASO seizes smuggled cloth, non-duty paid truck

FAISALABAD: The Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) Sara-e-Muhajir has confiscated a huge quantity of smuggled cloth in different colours. The market value of the seized cloth is Rs 5.3 million.

Sources informed Customs Today that Deputy Collector Rizwan Khan received information about some smuggling attempts will be made. An ASO team intercepted a mini truck near police check post Dajil district Bhakkar bearing registration No. JY-6017 and recovered a huge quantity of cloth which was being transported to Quetta via Dera Ismail Khan.

The ASO team asked the driver of the truck to produce legal documents regarding the possession of the cloth and truck but he failed to provide any relevant documents. After his failure, the ASO team seized the cloth and non-duty paid truck and forwarded the case to the customs adjudications.
