Sara-e-Muhajir ASO seizes smuggled items worth Rs3.83m

FAISALABAD: The Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization expedited their efforts to curb smuggling. The ASO has seized smuggled items worth Rs3833370 involving duty and taxes to the tune of Rs 463336.

Sources told Customs Today, that Assistant Collector Shah Samad Hamadani received credible information that some smugglers are trying to smuggle items to Rawalpindi.

According to information, he immediately constituted a raiding team. The team enhanced vigilance in the area of Sara-e-Muhajir and started searching operation of vehicles, after some time the team intercepted the Nissan truck trailer bearing registration number TLD-601 near M.M Alam Road district Bhakhar.

During checking, ASO recovered large numbers of elastic strips for BRA 1430 kilograms, ladies undergarments 1600 kilograms, ladies undergarments comprising of BRA of assorted color and designs 440 kilogram, polyester ladies scafe 516 kgs, baby jackets 413 dozens, boys jackets 800 dozens and others items.

The driver of the vehicle failed to produce any legal documents regarding possession and transportation of goods. The ASO team seized the goods and forwarded seizure report alongwith to Customs Adjudication.
