Sara-e-Muhajir ASO seizes smuggled tyres, alloy rims

FAISALABAD: The Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO), Sara-e-Muhajir has seized smuggled tyres and alloy rims worth Rs 413,298 involving duty/taxes amounting to Rs 84,155.

The ASO team received credible information through Faisalabad Customs Collector Dr Zulfiqar Ali regarding a smuggling attempt. Taking action, the officials intercepted a vehicle bearing Registration No SWA-5851 near police check post, Dajil district Bhakkar.

During checking, the officials recovered tyres and rims for heavy vehicles, which were brought into country without payment of duty/taxes through illegal means. The recovered items were confiscated as the driver Gul Badeen could not show documents regarding the legal import.

The ASO team comprising Superintendent Chaudhary Sardar Muhammad, Inspector Asihq Hussain, Havaldar Mahmoodul Hasasn, Yaqoob Umar, Sepoys Muhammad Amin Bhatti, Muhammad Riaz and Ziaul Hassan Bhatti participated in the raid.
