Sarai Muhajir Customs Field Intelligence impounds NDP Hino truck on secret info

FAISALABAD: The Field Investigation Unit (FIU) Sarai Muhajir of the Customs Intelligence and Investigation has taken into possession a Non-Duty-Paid Hino truck (S-wheeler) with the registration No: E-9693-DI Khan, Model 1997, priced at Rs5million involving customs duty and taxes of Rs2.4million.

Sources told Customs Today that Deputy Director Rana Irfan Shouqat received a tip-off about the smuggled vehicles which are plying on roads.

He constituted a team consisting of Muhammad Tahir Iqbal, Superintendent, Mansoor Nasir, Intelligence Officer (IO), Tajamalul Haq, Driver (Havaldar), Muhammad Sajjad and Khalil Ahmed, Sepoys.

The FIU team intercepted the said truck near Bypass Chowk, Samunderi Road, Faisalabad and asked the possessor of the vehicle, identified as Sher Ahmed son of Fateh Khan, to show the legal documents regarding the possession of the vehicle, but he could not do so. The FIU Sarai Muhajir team impounded the truck and forwarded the case to the customs adjudication for legal proceeding.
