Sarai Muhajir FIU seizes LCD, computer accessories worth Rs3m

SARA-I-MUHAJIR: Field Intelligence Unit (FIU) confiscated smuggled foreign origin used computer system and LCDs during a raid.

Sources told Customs Today that FIU Khushab Superintendent Muhammad Tahir Iqbal received reliable information from its source that smuggled computer accessories and LCDs would be smuggled through a trailer.

Superintendent Muhammad Tahir Iqbal formed special team comprising Intelligence Officer Saad Iqbal and Sepoys Ashraf Qureshi, Asad Iqbal and others for thwarting smuggling attempt.

The team intercepted a trailer bearing registration no: JU-8668 which was coming from Karachi to Rawalpindi via Muzaffargarh Mianwali route.

The officials checked the trailer and recovered dual core without hard disk 380 sets computer system core 2 without hard disk 170 sets computer system i3 with hard disk 45 sets computer system P-IV 160 sets used LCD monitors 17 inch 421 pieces used key board 385 number empty laptop bags 156 Pcs used laptop without hard disk in different models 113 pieces UPS different models 27 pieces and Laser Jet printers 350 and other accessories.

The recovered goods packed in cartons and booked on the name of Shahid Nadeem. The FIU team taken the computer and other goods in their custody for their verification. During verification of recovered goods the Customs Intelligence found that the said goods were booked on fake name for delivery purposes.
