Sargodha ASO impounds non-duty paid Land Cruiser worth Rs 1.8m from Chiniot

FAISALABAD: The Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) of Sargodha impounded a foreign origin (used) Toyota Land Cruiser worth Rs 1,800,000 involving customs duty and taxes to the tune of Rs 1,311,360.

Collectorate of Customs Faisalabad received information about the said vehicle. The Customs authorities intercepted the vehicle bearing registration number LHH-7904 (Lahore) model 1970 near Sabzi Mandi, Jhang Road Chiniot.

When the raiding party asked the driver of vehicle who was identified as Kaleem Raza son of Mulazim Hussain resident of Rajua Sadate tehsil and district Chiniot to produce legal documents of the vehicle. But the driver of the vehicle failed to produce any documents regarding legal import of the vehicle. After his failure the raiding party which comprised of Superintendent Chaudhary Muhammad Sardar, Inspector Ansar Saleemi, Bashir Ahmed, Mehar Ameer Ali and Muhammad Mansha, Safder Hussain, Hafiz Nasir Ahmed sepoys seized the Toyota Land Cruiser on the spot.

The Anti-Smuggling Organisation also registered a case against accused person and forwarded the case to Customs Adjudication for further proceedings.
