Sargodha ASO impounds non duty paid Mercedes Benz truck

SARGODHA: The Anti- Smuggling Organization ( ASO ) seized foreign origin Mercedez Benz truck bearing registration no: TKY-344 model 2007 worth Rs9 million during a crackdown.

Sources told Customs Today that Collector Mirza Mubashir Baig received information regarding some smuggling attempts. He formed an ASO team under the supervision of Assistant Collector Shah Samad Hamdani which also included Superintendent Ghulam Jaffar, Inspector Irfan Mumtaz Malik, Atif Mumtaz, Havaldar Muhammad Ashraf and Sepoys Muhammad Mansha, Mansoor Shah. The ASO team intercepted Hino truck near Khushab Road.

The ASO team asked driver of the vehicle who was identified as Noor Ali Khan to produce legal documents regarding the possession of the vehicle but he failed to show any legal documents. The ASO team seized the vehicle and forwarded the case to the customs adjudication.
