Sargodha ASO seizes 275 KVA generator worth Rs2.5m

SARGODHA: Collectorate of Customs Field Intelligence Unit (FIU) detained a non-customs paid mega 275 KV industrial generator.

Sources told Customs Today that customs authorities on secret information intercepted a vehicle loaded with the generator near Lahore Road Sargodha Interchange. The generator was being brought to Sargodha from Bannu side.

The sources said that the customs authorities detained the generator as the owners namely Kamran Noor failed to produce legal clearance documents. The sources said that the value of the generator is Rs 2.5 million involving duty and taxes Rs 6 million besides impounded carrier vehicle used Hino truck bearing registration No E-8036 under section 157 of the customs act 1969 which was being used for smuggling transportation worth Rs 3.1 million approximately.  The generator was detained on the instruction of Customs Collector Dr. Asif Mehmood Jah.

The source said that the customs authorities have initiated investigations the suspects after registering a case against them and seizure report along with enclosure is submitted to the competent adjudication authority for adjudication pleas.
