Sargodha ASO seizes non duty paid diesel generator, Hiace van

SARGODHA: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Field Intelligence Unit (FIU) Sargodha seized foreign origin diesel generator worth Rs4,50,000 involving customs duty and taxes Rs 400000. The ASO team also impounded Toyota Hiace van being used for smuggling.

Sources told Customs Today that Deputy Director Rana Irfan Shouqat received information about the said smuggled generator. The customs authorities established a check post near Katha Road Khushab under the supervision of Superintendent Muhammad Tahir Iqbal. The team intercepted a Toyotta Hiace van bearing registration no: LOT-2799 loaded with foreign origin generator 22-KVA.

When the ASO team asked the driver of the vehicle Ali Bahadar to produce legal documents of the generator but he failed to produce any legal documents regarding legal import of generator. So the Customs I&I team seized the generator and vehicle on the spot.

The Field Intelligence Unit registered a case against the accused and started investigations.
