Sargodha ASO seizes non duty paid diesel generator, Mazda truck

SARGODHA: The Anti-Smuggling Organization seized foreign origin diesel generator worth Rs4,39,2960 involving customs duty and taxes Rs 1320960. The ASO team also impounded Mazda truck worth Rs 600000 being used for smuggling.

According to details, Additional Collector Saeed Asad received information about some smuggling attempts. The customs authorities established a check post under the supervision of Assistant Collector Shah Samad Hamdani. The team intercepted Mazda truck bearing registration number BRI-14-2022 near Jhal Chakian Khushab Road Sargodha loaded with foreign origin generator (150 KVA) made in UK.

When the ASO team asked the driver of the vehicle Zahid Iqbal son of Rab Nawaz to produce legal documents of the generator but he failed to produce any legal documents regarding legal import of generator. So the ASO team comprising Superintendent Chaudhary Muhammad Sardar, Inspector Malik Atif Mumtaz, Havaldar Muhammad Ashraf and Sepoys Hafiz Naseer Ahmed, Abdul Shakoor, Manzoor Hussain Shah seized the generator and vehicle on the spot.

The Anti-Smuggling Organization also registered a case against the accused. Further proceedings are in progress.
